A long-term resident permit can be issued upon request of the governorates of Turkey. This request will need to be approved by the Ministry.
Who can apply for a long-term resident permit in Turkey?
Those who have resided continuously in Turkey for at least eight years on a legal permit (the duration of studying in Turkey will be calculated in half) if they have not received any types of social assistance within the past three years at the time of application
- The applicant needs to provide a document indicating that he/she has the sufficient and stable income to maintain themselves or, if any, their family
- The applicant needs to be covered with a valid medical insurance
Does the long term resident permit be cancelled?
A long-term resident permit will not be cancelled once it is approved and issued, unless in one of the following situations;
- If the holder poses a serious public security or public order threat
- If the holder stays out of Turkey for more than one year for reasons other than health, education and compulsory public service in his/her country
